A Letter from Owner Davy R. Hobson

On behalf of everyone at Dixon Furniture & Appliance, thank you for making us the oldest, continuous-standing furniture store in Angelina County. You are the reason we are now moving in to 60 year of business here at Dixon Furniture in Lufkin.

My name is Davy R. Hobson and I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. I have only been the owner of Dixon Furniture & Appliance for a few years, but I am not a stranger to the business at all. I worked for Dixon Furniture from 1991 to 1997 in the Rusk and Lufkin locations. Even after I left the business in 1997 to pursue a career in banking, I stayed in close contact with Mr. Dixon and the Dixon staff. In January of 2014, after 16 years in banking, I resigned my Senior Vice President position at Grapeland State Bank to rejoin the Dixon Furniture family.

There is just something about the furniture business, the Dixon way of serving customers and the Dixon customer family that kept drawing me back. Since taking over in September of 2014, my excitement has grown day by day as I endeavor to carry on a tradition in the furniture business and Angelina County. The Dixons started this business in 1961 and through their dedicated hard work and your loyalty, Dixon Furniture is still alive while others have fallen by the wayside. I want to assure you that I have every intention of keeping the Dixon Furniture tradition alive by continuing to serve residents of Angelina County and surrounding areas, the Dixon way. This business was built on some basic principles that we have no intention of changing:

• Treat everyone like we would like to be treated.
• Provide a way for the customer to be able to get what they need without busting their budget.
• Offer the customer quality, name-brand products at prices they can afford.
• And provide the customer with the kind of service that will keep them coming back again and again.

Dixon Furniture was built on these principles and true is the old cliché: “If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it!” I am so fortunate to have the same loyal, dedicated and experienced staff that you have grown to love and trust over the years.

First, I would like to thank God for all my many blessings and for putting me where I needed to be, when I needed to be there, in preparation to serve Him and you in this great business. Second, I would like to thank Mr. Dixon for trusting me by selling me this great business. Again, thank you for your patronage. We, all of us, look forward to serving you in the future. God bless America and God bless you!

Sincerely,
Davy R. Hobson, Owner
